Apple Announces That They Will Raise Their Quarterly Dividend, Again!

Apple announced earnings this afternoon. I’ll leave it to the “experts” to argue whether or not it was a great quarter. The bottom line is that Apple made a ton of money again this quarter! Their revenue this quarter was $37.4 billion and they reported a profit of $7.7 billion or $1.28 per diluted share.
Subsequently, Apple’s board of directors declared a cash dividend of $.47 per share of the Company’s common stock. The quarterly dividend was increased from $.4357 per share. At the close today, before the announcement, AAPL stock was priced at $94.72. With the dividend increase it now has a dividend yield of just below 2%. The dividend is payable on August 14, 2014,
to shareholders of record as of the close of business on August 11, 2014. Aug 11th will fall on a Monday so the ex-dividend date will probably be August 7th or earlier? If you want the dividend be sure you own the stock prior to the ex-dividend date. On the ex-dividend date you can sell the stock and you are still entitled to receive that upcoming dividend.
I own shares in Apple and I am enjoying the meager income I’m receiving in the form of a quarterly dividend.
